The Georgia Institute of Technology has admitted 401 students to the low-cost online master’s degree program in computer science, which was created in partnership with Udacity. The program costs $6,600, which is less than one-sixth of the full price of a residential program. The pilot launches January 14, 2014, and may enroll as many as 10,000 students over the next few years. According to the article, “Of the 401 students who will start the program in January, almost 90 percent are men, compared to about 76 percent of students on campus.”
