Udacity-AT&T ‘NanoDegree’ offers an entry-level approach to college

Posted on June 1st, 2014

Udacity recently announced that they are introducing “credentials built and recognized by industry with clear pathways to jobs. Together with AT&T and initial funding from AT&T Aspire of more than $1.5 million, we are launching nanodegrees: compact, flexible, and job-focused credentials that are stackable throughout your career.” Launching in Fall 2014, the initial program will cost US$200 a month and “is intended to teach anyone with a mastery of high school math the kind of basic programming skills needed to qualify for an entry-level position at AT&T as a data analyst, iOS applications designer or the like.” AT&T will accept the NanoDegree as a credential for entry-level jobs and has reserved 100 internship slots for its graduates. Udacity is also creating NanoDegrees with other companies.
