BCcampus and eCampusOntario will be collaborating to support Ontario post-secondary faculty in the review and adoption of open textbooks from the BC Open Textbook Project. The two will develop systems and processes, including a website and review process, to help faculty determine the potential of open textbooks. “One of the things that we’re trying to do is broaden the impact of open from a 5% to a 40-50% adoption rate. The key is to work directly with faculty and post-secondary institutions,” says David Porter, CEO of eCampusOntario. “We also need to collaborate more broadly to better communicate and share the benefits of open education across Canada’s post-secondary sector.”
