edX recently announced an expanded membership structure and the addition of 12 new member institutions, including Colgate University and Hamilton College, as well as several non-academic institutions, such as the Linux Foundation and the International Monetary Fund. These new members supplement the original 32 charter members and will be able to offer MOOCs on edX and have the opportunity to share any revenue generated by the courses. However, they will not be privy to the same strategy conversations as the charter members.
