This project has two phases. The first phase involves a course redesign of Genomics and Personalized Medicine (PHAR 330) to include flipped classroom methods of delivery. The goal of this part of the project will be to make PHAR 330 accessible to undergraduates, postgraduates, and practicing healthcare professionals. The course will be available in January 2014.
The second phase of the project will build on the revised PHAR 330 to enrich and extend the curriculum in pharmacogenomics to applied fields such as forensics, oncology, and others. The second phase will result in an extended genomics curriculum and applied learning aimed primarily at clinical practitioners. In September 2014, an online directed studies course will be piloted. Building on this experience, the instructors will create a credit-based elective course at the undergraduate level and a non-credit, open resource for the general public and/or public health sector.
