Enabled by technology and driven by learner demands, personalization is a growing trend in higher education.
UBC is rethinking how programs are structured to ensure they meet the needs of individual learners, and to give students more agency, flexibility and choice in how and what they study.
For example, students may soon have the option of challenge exams to prove they’ve already mastered a course, or taking discrete modules of a larger course or program for credit.
Expanded options in career and personal education will extend personalization throughout a student’s lifelong learning career.
