Free online courses shake up the world of post-secondary education

The Vancouver Sun profiles the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) MOOC efforts and explores why universities are developing the open courses. According to Kevin Leyton-Brown, who taught the joint UBC and Stanford Game Theory MOOC, “The most exciting thing is that a lot of people are getting free education of a very high quality from some of the best schools in the world and they’re succeeding in matching up people who care about something unusual with people who have a passion for it.”
