The Journal of Online Learning and Teaching (JOLT) recently published a special issue on MOOCs. The issue includes research, case studies, and position papers which combine to reflect “the collective grappling, in academia and society, of the role of MOOCs in relation to existing educational systems.” Topics include an investigation of a “multi-access learning framework that envelops the MOOC phenomenon and merges course access modes enabling student choice and agency,”  a study on the integration of a machine learning MOOC into a graduate course at Vanderbilt University, and an exploration of “the potential triggers for active participation in a MOOC from the perspective of learners.” Abstracts for all articles may be directly accessed at: http://jolt.merlot.org/vol9no2/abstracts.htm.
