A new publication by the Commonwealth of Learning reviews the status of open educational resources worldwide. Open Educational Resources: Global Report 2017 presents the findings and analyses of two global surveys—one for governments and one for stakeholders—as well as six regional consultations. Among the findings, the report states that though support for OER policies is increasing, there is still a lack of awareness about their relevance. The report notes, “While much has been done to promote and increase the development and use of OER, more is required for OER to be mainstreamed in teaching and learning at all levels of education.”
