Redefining MOOC completion rates

Posted on December 14th, 2013

Martin Weller returns to the discussion on MOOC completion rates, suggesting that “taking MOOC enrollment figures to be the number who signed up for a MOOC even if they never come in to it is always going to give harsh figures. It’s a bit like saying university courses enrollments are all those who come to an open day. Maybe a better figure would be the number of students active after 1 week. This is your baseline figure as those are the students who have actually started the course.”
