Student digital experience tracker 2017

Posted on October 3rd, 2017

This report from Jisc summarizes findings from a survey of 22,000 students in the United Kingdom regarding digital technologies. The report states that attitudes towards digital technologies in learning are generally positive, and students value the convenience and flexibility that technology provides. Learners on the whole do not believe that the use of digital technology—for example, access to course resources and recorded lectures—makes them less likely to attend class. Seventy percent of higher education learners agree that when digital technology is used in their courses, they are more independent in their learning and can fit learning into their lives more easily. Eighty-two percent of learners feel digital skills will be important in the workplace, but only 50 percent agree their courses prepare them for the digital workplace.
