Coursera has partnered with the U.S. Department of State and other international organizations to create a new world-wide “learning hub” initiative that that will offer physical spaces where people can access the Internet to take a Coursera course, while “learning alongside peers in an interactive, facilitated setting.” According to Coursera, students can come to the learning hubs to take courses and participate in interactive learning sessions with facilitators. The learning hub service will be offered without fees and many of the facilitators are foreign service officers, retired teachers, or those who had a Fulbright or other travel grant.
