To see higher education being transformed in New York City, “you have only to pick your vantage point,” this article from The New York Times states. Columbia University, Cornell and New York University, as well as the University of Oregon, have massive building projects underway, part of a worldwide trend to imitate “the success of Stanford, which has collected well over $1 billion in royalties as innovations linked to its campus made their way into the market.” While the projects seek to stimulate growth, they also seek to solve critical issues with space and replace spaces that are past their prime.
